#38 Known by God. Thoughts from the Back Deck...
Psalm 63
O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
What a beautiful way to start a prayer.
O God: a way to honor, and acknowledge God as being a part of everything. Nothing happens without His knowledge. He is... Creator. Sustainer. Delivered. Defender. There is nothing in all the world that stands without Him.
you are my God: Personalized! God is my everything. He has provided me with all I have. He has done everything for me and I am fully aware of his love and care for me.
earnestly I seek you: God you give and I receive. God knows me, my faults, and my strengths. I am fully known. My response is Lord, I want to know you. I seek to be a part of the relationship you have initiated with me.
my soul thirsts for you: To know God is my desire. To my most inner being, I know I need His love and forgiveness. Don't withhold your grace from me.
my flesh faints for you as in a dry and weary land where there is no water: apart from God I am nothing. I can't survive. It is as if I will simply dry up and become dust without you O God.
Jesus when he was asked what the greatest commandment said: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."
Take joy in knowing that each day our Lord makes himself known to us. Blessed we are to have the word of God, the sacraments, and the Holy Spirit!
Thank you, Jesus!
Peace out,
Andy
